Its About Relationship!

Being a Christian is more than simply saying you are and more than merely claiming a "church home" ... its about having a relationship with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior ... its about knowing Him, loving Him, and living for Him.

The blessing of being a follower of Jesus Christ is experiencing his grace unfold and blossom in you. There is a peace that comes with the forgiveness He brings to repentant hearts willing to trust in Him. His abiding Spirit changes you, making you more loving, kind, patient, and wise. As your are transformed to reflect the Lord's own character, you gain a joyous purposeful drive and strength in life and an assurance of your eternal destiny.

Humans were created to know their Creator and enjoy him forever! Our sinful nature and ways are a rebellion against God, leaving us spiritually dead and need of rescue.  Jesus, who is God the Son, is our rescuer!  Jesus took the punishment due to us and granted his followers the blessing of His own right relationship with God the Father and grants us grace through the Holy Spirit to joyfully live faithfully.

John 1:12-14 (ESV); 12  ...to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13  who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. 14  And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

...Those who love Jesus want to know Him better and serve Him better and desire to be in fellowship with other believers.

The Following is a Summary of the Gospel through verses from the Apostle Paul's Letter to the Romans

(Scripture verses are quoted from the English Standard Version)

The Problem

Romans 3:23 (ESV); 23  for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 3:10-12 (ESV); 10  as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; 11  no one understands; no one seeks for God. 12  All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.”

The Consequences

Romans 5:12 (ESV); 12  Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned—

Romans 6:23 (ESV); 23  For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Scope

Romans 1:18-20 (ESV); 18  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19  For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20  For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

The Solution

Romans 5:6-8 (ESV); 6  For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7  For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8  but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

The Response

Romans 10:9-10 (ESV); 9  because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10  For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

The Assurance

Romans 10:13 (ESV); 13  For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
