Hurricane Ida

Our congregation has been in support of World Vision's crisis relief efforts for many years.  I received the following update  and plea from World Vision on the devastation left by Hurricane Ida...

Because of your heart for our emergency relief work, I’m reaching out to share that we are responding to Hurricane Ida.

On the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Ida made landfall in Louisiana. It is has become one of the most powerful storms in history to strike Louisiana, with sustained wind speeds of 150 miles an hour. This life-threatening storm has caused flash flooding and heavy damage along the coast of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.

World Vision is currently rushing truckloads of critically needed supplies to affected areas as we speak. We are also working closely with local church partners to ensure that we reach the most vulnerable with important resources like food, water, tents, hygiene kits, generators, flashlights, baby diapers, clothing and more!

Please join us in prayer today for those in the wake of the storm. If you’re able to give, even a small gift today, visit: Donate Disaster Relief in the USA | World Vision Or call me directly at 1-888-552-1507 to donate by phone.

****

Hurricane Ida ripped through Louisiana on Sunday after making landfall as a Category 4 storm with sustained winds of 150 mph. Catastrophic winds and heavy rainfall created life-threatening conditions as the storm continued inland, leaving a wake of destruction.

Affected children and families are in need of immediate aid. Please give now to provide urgent help to those impacted by Hurricane Ida and other disasters.

World Vision is rushing truckloads of critically needed supplies to the area, working closely with our local church partners to reach the most vulnerable. Your gift will help deliver resources like tarps and tents, diapers, cleaning supplies, and more.

Please join us in prayer for children and families who are hurting in the wake of Hurricane Ida and other recent disasters. Your generosity toward those in crisis is a witness to God’s loving care. Thank you for your partnership

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea. —Psalm 46:1–2 (NIV)

Please consider making a direct contribution to World Vision or give a designated donation for this effort through the church's Brotherhood of Mighty Men ministry, which regularly raises funds for World Vision.
